Okay, clearly we've been neglecting this blog. Here are a few pictures to keep you all entertained while we find the time to catch you all up. So far, we're loving Maine in the winter!
At the beginning of July, fueled by the outrageous North Carolina summer heat, my girlfriend Meredith and I packed-up our bags and our black lab Orvis, and headed north (way north), following climate, adventure, and employment, to the great 23rd state of the Union... Maine.
Having both grown-up in North Carolina within a 90-mile radius of Chapel Hill, where we went to college, we decided to follow our dreams, abandon all who care for us, and strike out a path towards fame and fortune... secretly desperate to become accepted, lobster- and LL Bean-loving Maineiacs.
All kidding aside, Meredith and I moved to Maine to seek out the opportunity to experience "the way life should be" (one of Maine's mottos). An outdoorsy and laid back state, the people and places here have already proven to be truly one-of-a-kind. Meredith, Orvis, and I are extremely excited to try all that Maine has to offer. From bright red crustaceans to negative 20 degree weather, we will face everything with a smile, long underwear, and a die-hard attitude to assimilate.
With any luck Mere and I will use this blog to both keep in touch with friends and family (we know you all are killing-over with anticipation to read about everything that we wish to publicly document about our lives) and as some sort of guide to being "from away" in this truly incredible place.
